L’équipe de Thorium s’est entretenue très brièvement avec Markus Grosskopf, le bassiste du groupe Helloween, avant sa performance au Hellfest Open Air Festival le 21 Janvier dernier. Il nous est apparu très décontracté et en pleine forme.

Marcus sitting down : Hum very confortable here

Thorium : Did you arrive today?
M : Yeah at 3 o’clock

T : How was the travel?
M : We went by bus, it was ok

T : So it’s not your first time to the Hellfest?
M : Yeah we played a couples of years ago, but it was smaller.

T : Have you seen an evolution about the Hellfest’s organisation ?
M : It’s getting bigger and better

T : What about your fans the last time you came?
M : oh the last time it was fine, that’s why we are comin back you know !

T : Do you have any special attachement for playing in France?
M : Yeah, I remember that show we played in Paris in the place that burned down. We loved that place and we played couple of great shows there. I don’t remember all the details but we’ve been having a really great time there.

T : We’ve heard that Andy (ndlr: Singer) is a big fan of kiss, right?
M : Yes Andy is a big fan, we all are, and about Deff Leppard too, I hope we are going to see them tonight

T : How do you feel about sharing the line up with them?
M : Oh it’s great, it will remember me some kid memories, when I was a very young kid I thought it was very good music, full of emotions. That’s why sharing the same stage is huge.
Got bless them, it’s really nice to see a good job, show in good shape, playing good music. We have to make some good memories today!

T : Do you will see some show today?
M : Yes tonight we will watch some Whitesnake, some Deff Leppard and we already seen Saxon.

T : And about tomorow ?
M : We are doing some stuff in Metalfest in Poland, so we have to leave for the airport at 3 o’clock tonight.

T : You have produced a lot of record with Helloween, which one is your favorite?
M : probably the next one !

T : You already know the name of this next album?
M : I can’t let it know so not yet ! (laughing)

T : And what about your solo project “Bassinvaders” ?
M : It takes a lot of time to put that together. Last time I was working on “Bassinvaders” when I was touring with Helloween. Well you know it’s complicated, I would need a lot of time to do this. But it was fun to do such things. I think about doing it or having holidays (laughing)
Who knows for the futur…

T : Do you have any funny story to tell about the Hellfest?
M : I can’t remember just one funny story but you know the funniest can’t be told ! (laughing)

T : Do you have favorite French word?
M : hum …l’amour ! of course it’s my favorite ! everybody needs l’amour ! We can’t live without l’amour ! (laughing) and Le boeuf !!

T : le boeuf? why le boeuf?
M : I saw some, on the way ! It apparentely goes to Paris, le boeuf ! But l’amour is my first favorite

T : Aah ! you are really in the mood ! That’s all, thank you !!
